Northlight Expeditions is an invented company. It exists so that visitors can see how a travel and media business might present itself using FlowMediaKit, FlowDownloads and FlowMap, without any real person or brand being involved.

The story we tell

In our imaginary history, Northlight was founded by a small group who wanted to see a coastline at the speed of a slow ship. Their first vessel carried forty guests and a very large kettle. Today the fleet is a single ship, the Halden Star, which carries sixty guests along the Skerry Coast from late spring to early autumn.

The team

  • Marlow Ashgrove, expedition leader, plans every landing and makes every final call about the weather.
  • Ines Halvorsen, lead naturalist, runs the evening talks and keeps the species lists.
  • Devika Rao, producer, records the sounds of each voyage for Tidewater Field Notes and edits Aurora Quarterly.

Our three brands

Northlight Expeditions runs the voyages. Aurora Quarterly publishes photography from the coast. Tidewater Field Notes turns daily observations into short audio pieces and columns.
